BBF: Lady of the Knights With Nicole Zoltack

Blogger Book Fair: Day 2

For those of you just finding your way to my blog for the BBF, welcome! Feel free to head over to my regular website to learn a bit about me and my writing and to enter a chance to win a digital copy of my first two novels in the Alex Crocker series, Unforeseen and Unveiled

First, though, dust off that armor and ready your steed as YA fantasy author Nicole Zoltack introduces us to her heroine in a character interview and a great giveaway. Welcome Nicole and Aislinn!

Aislinn from Woman of Honor is a strong, feisty character who longs to become a lady knight in a medieval fantasy world. To say this is not an easy task is an understatement! We dragged her away from training to ask her a few questions.

  • What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Convincing the king to let me train. I’m not exactly a page, not yet. I’m on probation. But I know I’ll be a knight someday!

  • What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Perfect happiness? I’m not sure this is real. If I can ever get my horse, Dream Rider, to cooperate, that would make me happy. That horse definitely needs a new name.

  • Where would you like to live?

I’m so happy living in the castle for my training! I haven’t thought about what I’ll do once I become a knight.

  • What do you most value in your friends?

Right now, I don’t have any friends. Well, except for Geoffrey. He’s a page. The others tease me. It doesn’t bother me…much.

  • Whose are your heroes in real life?

The lady knights in the Order of the Hatchet. An entire order of lady knights! That’s how I was able to convince the king to let me train–by mentioning them to him. If they can be knights, why can’t I? I mean, I know that Order is in another country far away, but after my brother died… I wanted our family to be able to do our part. Christopher had just been knighted. I can one day take his place.

  • On what occasions do you lie?

If I had to lie in order to become a knight, I would. I don’t lie often though.

  • How would you like to die?

On the battlefield, I guess. Heroically, of course.

  • If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?

But people die and go to Heaven. Or Hell. We don’t come back from the dead.

  • What is your motto?

Never give up on your dreams!

About the Author:

Nicole Zoltack loves to write fantasy/paranormal, romances, horror, historical, for adults and young adults, novels, short stories, and flash pieces. She doesn’t want to get boxed in by genre — she might be claustrophobic! She’s also an editor for MuseItUp Publishing and works as a freelance editor.

When she isn’t writing about girls wanting to be knights, talking unicorns, and zombies, she spends time with her loving family. She loves to ride horses (pretending they’re unicorns, of course!) and going to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, dressed in period garb.
