Today’s original post was
silly and sarcastic, a tough mood to embrace after yesterday. So instead I’m sharing my
eleven wishes for everyone in our country this day after tragedy, but
especially to those in Newtown and their families.

I wish you:

Support of strangers from
far and wide.

Unity of a nation often
divided.

A moment of peace among the chaos.

Answers when there are few
and none that make sense.

Memories bright enough to
light the darkest days ahead.

The blessing of love from family.

The warmth of a friend’s touch.

The relief of laughter, if
only momentary.

Comfort when such a thing
seems impossible.

And hope that someday you’ll
find joy again.

In your own good time, you will find joy again.
